Ulaan Baatar, October 23rd, 2011—A total of 116 examinees who came from all over Mongolia took the new HSK exam at the Confucius Institute at National University of Mongolia. It was the first test of its kind hosted by the Confucius Institute after it was approved by Hanban to be an official HSK test site, and received intense attention from the Institute’s faculty, students and their parents. To ensure the success of the test, the Institute’s faculty has made great efforts to prepare for the whole event, from registration to conducting the test. Thanks to their hard work, the test proved to be a great success.

In the past years, applicants for HSK had to take the test at Mongolian State University of Education, the only HSK test site in Mongolia. Driven by the Chinese fever, the number of HSK examinees has been increasing every year and the only one test site could not meet the increasing demand for taking the test. With the great support of Hanban, the Confucius Institute at National University of Mongolia began to host the HSK test, which provided Mongolian students with another chance to take the test twice a year and was warmly welcomed by local Chinese learners. The effort will further promote the development of the HSK test in Mongolia, and expand the popularity and influence of Chinese proficiency tests.
