Chinese Bridge Summer Camp promotes Chinese programs in upper state South Carolina
July 15th, 2011, with the help of CI at Presbyterian College, 11 high school students went to China for the 2-week Chinese Bridge Summer Camp sponsored by Hanban. 6 members of the team, including the team chaperon were from Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, SC.
The journey to China was so impressive that the team members had tried different means to show their discoveries, demonstrating photos on the screen in the cafeteria, writing journal for the school paper and editing webpage on website.
Both the principal of CCES, Mr. Peter D. Sanders and the principal of GTCHS, Mr. Crawford expressed their appreciation to the summer camp. Students and their parents knew more about what China really is through the trip. The Summer Camp consequently promoted the Chinese program that was to set out in the coming semester.
Students who enrolled in Chinese program from the 2 schools and those from Brashier Middle School, another school that is to kick off a Chinese program this fall semester, are expecting the summer camp next year.
