Bangkok, June 27th—Suankularb Wittayalai School was filled with the deafening sound of gongs and drums. The Chinese Language Community voluntarily organized by Chinese studying high school sophomore students was recruiting new members on campus. All teachers and students from the school were keenly interested in the Chinese Language Community.

This activity was voluntarily organized by Chinese studying high school sophomore students. Relying on the Chinese language and culture they had learnt, the students prepared the activity programs by themselves, including a jubilant lion dance, varied and graceful ancient Chinese dress show and a powerful calligraphy display. The performers were all boys and everything, from stage setting to make-up, was of a Chinese style- the activities were spectacular. There was an endless stream of people wishing to take part. Some had a go at brandishing swords, some had a try at writing Chinese characters, and others had a go at playing drums. They were taken in by the Chinese culture embodied by the event.

Fu Wenhong, Head of the Confucius Classroom at Suankularb Wittayalai School stated that this activity served to improve the confidence of the students studying Chinese: they will organize a series of activities for the community in the future. The whole process also served as a means for them to learn Chinese language and culture, it was a great source of practice and also a chance for them to improve themselves. Students spread Chinese language and culture across the campus by means of their own.(Text/photo by Zhao Wei)
