Confucius Institute at UT Dallas Participated in 2011 Asian Festival in Plano
The Confucius Institute at UT Dallas participated in 2011 Annual Plano Asian Festival to promote the Chinese language and culture on May 7th.
The teachers at the Confucius Institute prepared well for this festival. They brought many works with typical Chinese character, such as paper cutting works, the Chinese knot, Chinese calligraphy and painting works, and Chinese traditional musical instruments, etc. for display and fun. Teachers from China Three Gorges Universityshow Chinese calligraphy to the American friends. Ms. Huang Haiying, demonstrated the paper cutting skills and then gave her works to the natives. Besides, the Confucius Institute also promoted their Chinese language courses and cultural courses, and answered various questions regarding the Confucius Institute, Confucius Classrooms and China Three Gorges University, thepartner university in China.
The festival started at 10am and ended at 5pm, during which all the teachers worked hard to promote the Chinese language and culture. As one of them said, “This is our mission.
