Entertainment for the reception started with cheerful songs. Pupils from the Holzhausenschule Primary School, one of the Confucius Institute’s partners, sang some popular Chinese children’s songs, such as “Happy New Year”, “Looking for Friends” and “Two Tigers”. A poem recital featuring excellent pronunciation and proper gestures was the highlight of the event. Following their performances, the pupils folded their hands to give blessings in Chinese, such as “Happy New Year”, “Everything goes well” and “We wish you prosperity”, drawing warm applause from the guests.

They burst into hearty applause at the end of the performance. At the audience's urging, Ms. Zhang came back on stage and played the music “Falling Flowers Coloring the Green”, which was hailed with warm applause once again.
