Hanban Holds the First Local Chinese Language Teaching Material Focused Training in France

Paris, February 11th-13th, 2011 -- The first local Chinese language teaching material training course was hosted by Hanban at Université Paris X(West Paris Nanterre La Defense University), with Zhu Xiaoyu, Minister Counselor of the Education Office at the Chinese Embassy in France in attendance its closing ceremony and issued certificates to qualified trainees.

270 out of the 306 students that had signed up for the training were selected to attend. Amongst the 270 trainees hailing from 25 cities and areas of France, there were 96(36% of the total) Chinese language teachers from the major universities, primary and secondary schools of France, 91(34% of the total) dispatched teachers and volunteers from Confucius Institutes, 24(9% of the total) Chinese language teachers from language training institutions and weekend Chinese schools, 54(20% of the total) were school students or graduates of Chinese language education-related majors.

There were many books amongst the training materials covered, including Chinese Paradise, Happy Chinese, Learn Chinese with Me, Great Wall Chinese, New Practical Chinese Reader Textbook, and Contemporary Chinese. The delegation of educationists was comprised of experts from various institutions, including Beijing Language and Culture University Press, SINOLINGUA and Beijing Normal University. The training program included a great number of topics, including the integration of high quality Chinese language teaching materials both at home and abroad, explanations of considerations of quality teaching in the compilation of key Chinese language textbooks, discussions of outstanding Chinese language teaching methods and techniques, and the sharing of Chinese language teaching experiences as well as opinions and discussions of how to further develop local Chinese language textbooks.
