Spring Festival Appreciation Dinner Organized by CIT

At 6 p.m., Jan. 27th, 2011, Confucius Institute at Troy University （CIT） held a grand 2011 Chinese New Year Appreciation at Trojan Center Ballroom, which was in return for the full support CIT received from relevant people and departments at Troy University and brought out the best wishes of CIT in the advent of 2011 Chinese Spring Festival.

The programs were diversified and well-arranged, including Chinese classic dances and songs, Chinese traditional musical Instruments demonstration, the group singing by Chinese class students, the cucurbit flute by an American student, the Guzheng performance by a Chinese Overseas student, the piano solo by an American student and so on. This was really a cultural and art pageant, in which American students show their deep interest and love for Chinese language and Chinese culture in their unique way.

Chinese Cuisine is always an eye-catching feature in Chinese New Year celebration. CIT had Golden Crane Restaurant make many dumplings and spring rolls in advance, and also prepared various fruits and drinks, which attracted many American friends. This dinner, which was a combination of east and west, from whatever aspects, was a treat to American friends by CIT.

CIT also organized a lottery draw. The lucky ones received the practical gifts such as Chinese Characters kingdom, Hafala and so on, which catered right to the needs of our American friends to learn Chinese culture and Chinese language.

Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals in China, which has rich Chinese culture elements in it. On the occasion of this grand Festival, CIT held the Appreciation Dinner to show their gratitude to American friends and let them experience and feel the real Chinese culture, which is the best way for china to step in to the world stage.
