Chinese Martial Arts Spinning Round Korea----Volunteer Chinese language Teachers from the Confucius Classroom at Taesung Middle and High School Participate in Spring Festival Gathering Party Performance
Korea, Jan. 23rd, 2011--The 'overseas Chinese students & volunteer Chinese language teachers' gathering was held by the Education Department of Chinese Embassy in Korea in Lotte-new Wing Hotel. 11 volunteer teachers participated in the event and staged wonderful programs for the audience, winning rounds of thunderous applause from the audience.
Ambassador Zhang Xinsen, Counselor Ai Hongge and Consul General He Ying, along with other leaders and guests attended the party. They highly praised the performance and the audience also expressed their congratulations on the success of the party. More importantly, the volunteers and their joyous spirits infected all of the attendees with their happiness and lively attitudes.
The volunteer teachers representing all Confucius Institute and Classroom teachers, performed shaolin boxing, nine-section whip and fan martial arts, among which, the fan martial arts integrates Chinese martial arts and Korean fan dance, endowing the program with the power of martial arts and the fluidity of dance. With the support and attention of the Classroom Director Li Yuji, the volunteer teachers fully utilized their spare time to prepare for the program, and orchestrated such excellent programs within a short period of one week. *Good honing gives a sharp edge to a sword; bitter cold adds keen fragrance to plum blossoms,*as the saying goes. After their industrious effort and persistant practice, their performance was a complete success and won warm response from the audience.
The performance demonstrated the profoundness of Chinese martial arts and the versatility of volunteer teachers in their ability to be cultural ambassadors to the Korean people. We believe that the Confucius Classroom and volunteer teachers will play even more important role in the stage of Chinese culture in the future.
