In his speech, Mr. Somphon, President of Princess Sirindhorn’s College stressed the importance of learning the Chinese language and encouraged his students to follow Princess Sirindhorn’s example and work hard to learn about Chinese language and culture. He also thanked Hanban for its great support of Chinese teaching in Thailand.

At that time, the Confucius Classroom arranged various programs for the students to experience Chinese culture, such as Chinese tea ceremonies, costume culture, Chinese knots and knowledge Q&A sessions, so as to help them experience the colorful Chinese culture as well as gain a better understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

Princess Sirindhorn’s College has a 20-year long history and was established by the Thai Royal family in celebration of Princess Sirindhorn’s 36th birthday. It began to offer Chinese courses in 2005 and currently has nearly 1,000 Chinese learners.
