“Chinese Promotion Caravan” Enters into Ko Samet, Thailand

Ko Samet, Dec. 6th to 7th—a “Chinese Promotion Caravan” activity entitled “Sightseeing in Ko Samet and Tasting Chinese Food” was launched by the Confucius Classroom at Rayong Wittayakorm School. The activity came on the opening of the BanPhe Samed Island Festival and thousands of visitors from all over the world had a taste of the unique charm of Chinese culture.

Mr. Phairat, Chairman of the festival Organizing Committee and Mayor of Banphe City came to visit the Confucius Classroom booth, tried out the sound wall chart and tasted rice dumplings, one of the kinds of traditional Chinese snacks. He said that the Confucius Classroom’s Chinese culture exhibition has injected new vitality into Ko Samet tourism and made active contributions to the diversified development of Banphe.

During the activity, a large number of visitors were attracted to the Confucius Classroom booth by the sound wall charts, the interesting equipment for printing Beijing opera masks and delicious Chinese food. A visitor called John from Canada has made several trips to China. He tried out the mask-printing equipment and savored Chinese tea, and expressed that he felt very lucky to experience genuine Chinese culture in Thailand.

The Confucius Classroom’s Chinese Head Jiang Chengjun expressed that they hosted the activity with support of local government, with the aim of setting off an upsurge in learning Chinese culture and further promoting the classroom’s popularity and influence.

The Chinese Promotion Caravan, featuring a sense of playfulness, and encouraging participation, is one of the Confucius Institute brand activities aiming to promote Chinese language and culture.
