Confucius Classroom at Rayong Wittayakorm School Hosts Evening Gala to Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Sino-Thai Diplomatic Relations

Rayong, November 29th—the Confucius Classroom at Rayong Wittyakom School held a large-scale party to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Sino-Thailand diplomatic relations. In the joyful and harmonious atmosphere, Rayong Governor Mr. Thawachai, Rayong Mayor Mr. Walawed and other important guests cut the ribbon for the event. More than 400 people including government officials of the Wittyakom prefecture, representatives of Chinese associations in Thailand and Rayong Wittyakom School teachers and students, participated in the event.

In his speech, Governor Mr. Thawachai said that China and Thailand are good neighbors and good friends. Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1975, the Sino-Thai friendship has enjoyed wide support from Thailand royal family, government and social forces. In recent years, the two sides have cooperated closely in regards to cultural exchange, and in the field of Chinese teaching. Since the establishment of the Confucius Classroom at Rayong Wittyakom School, the Classroom has employed a multitude of methods to spread Chinese language and Chinese culture, provide quality Chinese language services, and promote the development of the friendship between the two peoples.

 

Accompanied by the sounds of gongs and drums, the performance started with an excellent lion dance. The following music ‘South of the Cloud’ brought the audience to the magic wonderland of Yunnan. The school’s student performed ethnic dance series to express their good wishes for the unity of all Chinese people, striking a chord in the overseas Chinese. Institute teacher Li Huiling took a brush and drew a traditional Chinese painting to express her joyfulness on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Sino-Thailand diplomatic relations. The performance won warm applause from the audience.

The Chinese Head of the Confucius Classroom Jiang Chengjun expressed that the event was held with the aim of enabling Thai people to gain a better understanding of Chinese culture, strengthening the friendship between the two peoples and promoting exchanges in culture and arts between the two sides.

Before this performance, the Confucius Classroom had launched a picture exhibition entitled ‘Sino-Thai Friendship Last Forever’ to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Sino-Thai Diplomatic Relations with the assistance of Rayong City Government, winning wide acclaim from all social circles.
