More than 25000 LSBU staff, students and visitors are invited to join short lunch-time massage workshops and learn something about the properties of Chinese tea! At the same time the TCM culture and TCM wellbeing lectures take place at the Event Theatre. The wellbeing workshops and lectures will last 3 weeks.

Chinese wellbeing week Road Show started on 15th October 2010. They will travel cross UK 10 cities, visit 50 Schools, around 100 shows, 50 workshops.

Martial artists, dancers and wellbeing experts are welcomed by local VIPs, schools children, teachers and local communities. The Road show will last 4 weeks.

Councillor Albert Richardson, the mayor of Preston said: “the Confucius Institutes’ work is central in promoting Chinese language and culture, but also to encourage our children, their parents, and teachers to get active and keep healthy in a Chinese way! The aim of the Wellbeing Week is to encourage parents and children to eat better and move more.”

Ms Carol Austin, head of Language Department, at Calday Grange Grammar School pointed out: “The Chinese Wellbeing Road show provided an excellent opportunity for the students and teachers to understand the different aspects of Chinese culture. The martial arts and Chinese dancing are fabulous. The massage interaction is very beneficial to the students.”

The CI for TCM at LSBU Wellbeing troupe will continue their journey to Scotland to promote Chinese culture and Wellbeing knowledge.
