As “Chinese fever” continues to heat the world, the average age of world’s Chinese learners is increasingly lower. The “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students aims to provide young people, especially non- ethnically Chinese teenagers aged between 15—20, born and raised in foreign countries without a Chinese language environment with a platform to display their Chinese proficiency and an opportunity to learn from and communicate with each other. Following the theme of “Fun with Chinese, Growing with Vigor”, this year’s competition became a relaxing and joyful gathering of youths with a purpose of sharing the fun and fruits of Chinese learning.
In addition, contestants will visit universities, middle schools and ordinary families in Chongqing, experiencing Chinese campus culture and everyday Chinese life. The competition will conclude on Oct. 28th and Chongqing TV will air the entire competition process.
