Confucius Institute at Kyrgyz National University Hosts Mid-Autumn Cultural Week to Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

Kyrgyzstan, September 20th to 24th—a “Mid-Autumn Cultural Week” sponsored by the Confucius Institute at Kyrgyz National University was carried out in colleges and universities as well as elementary and secondary schools in Bishkek, Naryn and Issyk-Kul State, it attracted nearly 3,000 teachers and students.

The cultural week, with a focus upon lectures, aimed to introduce the various traditions and customs of Mid-Autumn Festival and give the students a taste of real moon cakes. Head of the Department of Chinese Studies and Chinese teachers also took active part in the lectures and spoke highly of the activity. “The cultural week presents our students with colorful activities to experience Chinese culture; it allows them a much closer look at China. The activity also feeds their enthusiasm for learning Chinese and attracts more people to learn Chinese and about China, so as to enhance the friendship between our two peoples. We will lend further support to the institute in the future,” she said.

Through the joint effort of volunteer Chinese teachers, the activity saw great success at the institute’s Chinese teaching site in the Middle School affiliated with Kyrgyz National University, Middle School No. 2, Middle School No. 31, Middle School No. 68, Middle School No. 69, Naryn State University and Issyk-Kul Middle School.
