Chinese Volunteer Teachers in the Philippines Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival
Manila, September 21st—the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) threw a dinner party to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival together with 100 Chinese volunteer teachers working in Manila. Vice President Ye Fangfeng and other board members of the FFCCCII as well as officials from the Culture Office at the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines were present on the occasion.
At the party, Vice President Ye Fangfeng thanked the volunteers for their efforts on behalf of FFCCCII and wished them a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival. Wong Ping, who has served as an executive teacher, gave a speech, in which thanks was given to the FFCCCII for its support of and concern for international Chinese education, and encouraged the volunteers to work hard and make contributions to the spreading of Chinese culture. Wong Ping also announced a message of greeting to all the volunteers for the 2010 Mid-Autumn and National Day from Hanban and conveyed Hanban’s praise and concern for their living and work in the Philippines.
The volunteers staged excellent performances, such as dances “Chinese Kungfu Fan” and “Red Lanterns” as well as songs “The Dragons Writing”, “I Love You, China” and “A Grateful Heart”, etc. The party ended to a warm and festive atmosphere. The volunteers said that they felt much happiness to receive greetings from the motherland on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival. They will bear their responsibilities in mind and work hard to contribute to international Chinese education and Sino- Philippine friendship.
