Melbourne, September 6th, 2010-the "Hanban Chinese Teaching Resources and Chinese Book Exhibition Tour in Oceania 2010", hosted by Hanban and organized by Hanban Oceania Affairs Department commenced. The 45-day tour will go to 50 primary and secondary schools, colleges in Australia and New Zealand and provide local students and Chinese teachers a chance to have a better understanding of Hanban's Chinese teaching resources.

On the first morning, the exhibition was held at Mulgrave Primary School in Melbourne. About 300 students and dozens of locals attended the activity. The school's principal, Ms. Liz Watkins, was greatly interested in the activity. To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, the students prepared a series of performances. There were a number of programs arranged during the exhibition, such as Chinese books and a showcase of teaching resources, a Chinese class demonstration, an exhibition of Chinese folk culture, guzheng performances and a martial arts show. Students were attracted by the excellent performances and various exhibits. "The Chinese books and exhibits are so attractive and Chinese culture is interesting! Thank you for bringing these to us," one student said excitedly. Hanban presented the school more than 400 Chinese textbooks, cultural books and multi-media teaching discs. Ms. Liz Watkins and other teachers called the donation a timely source of help, which will play a significant role in improving Chinese teaching level at their school.
