Nanjing, August 28th to September 5th—the Confucius Institute at Aichi University held its 4th short-term Chinese course at Nankai University with a total of 43 trainees attending.

The course was designed for people who will be using Chinese in a working environment. The course lasted only 10 days, but was well arranged and rich in content and was a great success overall. The participants spent 4 days visiting places of interest in Beijing and Tianjin to learn about modern Chinese society, and 5 days having an intensive Chinese course. They also learned tai chi chuan, attended the Beijing opera and communicated with local college students during the course. Both the course and the cultural activities satisfied the interests and requirements of the trainees and they felt the training was very helpful.

The Confucius Institute has successfully held 3 previous training courses which were all well received by the trainees. Through this platform, the institute helped more Japanese people come in contact with Chinese people and learn about China.
