Contestants of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China Visit Hanban
Beijing, August 26th – contestants of the 3rd “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students in China visited Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters.
First, contestants experienced the charm of Chinese culture at the “China Exploratorium” and the “Confucius Institute Exhibition Center” and learned about the general situation of the development of Confucius Institutes around the world. Contestants participated in cultural experience facilities and took photos while the exhibition center filled with their cheerful chatter.
Then, contestants attended a welcome ceremony at the Grand Forum, where Mr. Wang Yongli, Deputy Director of Hanban and Deputy Director of Confucius Institute Headquarters, explained some basic information about Hanban to them. Mr. Wang Yongli also stated his hope that contestants would obtain good results in the competition and then granted gifts to contestant representatives.
Wu Mengtian (Woods Jr. Martin Wiley), an American contestant, said this is the second time for him to attend the competition and compared with the last year’s competition, contestants’ Chinese proficiency is much higher in this year.
At lunch time, Hanban treated contestants to a dinner at Beijing Quanjude Restaurant.
