Thai Confucius Classroom at Traimit Wittayalai High School Celebrates the 35th Anniversary of Sino-Thai Diplomatic Ties

Bangkok, July 23 – the Confucius Classroom at Traimit Wittayalai High School celebrated the 35th anniversary of Sino-Thai Diplomatic Ties in China Town. Lv Jian, Chargés d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, President of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, Mr. Theerakun Niyom, Vice Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Deputy Mayor of Bangkok cut the ribbon for the event.

Chargés d’affaires Lv Jian mentioned in his address that since 1975, frequent exchanges between high level leaders of the two countries have injected fresh vigor into the lasting, comprehensive and in-depth development of bilateral relations. The two countries have made significant achievements in friendly exchanges across various spheres over the past 35 years. In recent years, Chinese education has become a highlight of the two sides’ cooperation. As the world’s first Confucius Classroom, the Confucius Classroom at Traimit Wittayalai High School has been committed to promotion of Chinese language and culture through all kinds of means and has boosted the development of the friendship between the two peoples under the leadership of Master Zhaokun Thongchai, chairman of the Thai Council of the Confucius Classroom. Lv also hopes that the celebrations help people in Thailand to understand China further in order to aid Sino-Thai friendship in enduring generation after generation.

The Photography Exhibition Commemorating the 35th Anniversary of Sino-Thai Diplomatic Ties and the Books and Culture Exhibition of the Confucius Classroom at Traimit Wittayalai High School held during the celebration attracted a large number of locals. More than 400 guests, including Mr. Suraphon Svetasreni, Governor of the Thai Tourism Board, Wu Hongfeng, President of the Thai Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Pang Li, Hanban Representative in Thailand attended the opening ceremony.
