Beijing, July 19 – 224 members of the Henan Team of the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students paid a visit to the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters.

To begin with, members were given some general information on Hanban at the Grand Forum; they then visited the China Exploratorium, Multilingual Teaching Resource Exhibition and the Exhibition Areas for Confucius Institutes around the world.

The Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students is a Chinese cultural experience program jointly hosted by Hanban and Confucius Institutes in the USA for American high school students. Between July and August this year, Hanban and 30 Confucius Institutes in the USA, including the Confucius Institute at George Mason University, the Confucius Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, the Confucius Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas, the Confucius Institute at the University of Minnesota etc. invited 745 students to join the summer camp in China. Members have been divided into 5 teams, after having seen Beijing they are visiting Jilin, Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu and Shanxi. They will study Chinese language and culture through Chinese language and cultural studies classes and some culture and sporting exchange activities with their Chinese peers.
