Counselor of the State Council Qiao Zonghuai Visits Chinese Teaching Material Promotion Center in Southeast Asia

On the morning of July 11th, 2010-Qiao Zonghuai, Counselor of the State Council, Senior Consultant to the Confucius Institute Headquarters and former Deputy Foreign Minister of China visited Hanban's Chinese Teaching Material Promotion Center in Southeast Asia.

During the visit the head of the promotion center made a briefing on its overall situation, the book exhibition tour in Singapore and Malaysia, Hanban's book donation, promotion works and other works carried out since its establishment. After taking in the work report, Senior Consultant Qiao spoke highly of the achievements that the center made in just a short period of time. "The center, though not very large, but well laid out, has a good range of teaching volumes, which can serve as a window for promoting Chinese culture and education. Chinese language learning is booming around the world and this situation is gratifying. In keeping with this present flow, Hanban has committed itself to establishing Confucius Institutes, compiling teaching materials, training teachers, and has made outstanding achievements thanks to the great efforts," commented Qiao.
