The Confucius Institute in Brittany Hosts the 1st French National Chinese Teacher Training Program

Between July 5th and 9th, the 1st French National Chinese Teacher Training program was held in Vannes in southern Brittany. The training program lasted 5 days.

The training program was jointly sponsored by the Confucius Institute in Brittany and the Association Bretagne-Chine. The General Inspector of the Brittany Region for National Chinese Language Education at the French MOE and AFPC kindly offered funding for the training program.

16 French Chinese teachers attended the training program. Participating Chinese teachers were divided into two classes, one class is for non-native Chinese teachers while the other class was for native Chinese teachers. The training program aimed to promote Chinese teachers' proficiency and teaching quality and also to arrange a CAPES class. A purely Chinese language environment was created during the training program, teachers were asked to share their teaching experience in Chinese both in and outside the class.

Participating teachers said that they had improved their Chinese proficiency and acquired rich teaching experience through the training program.
