The Confucius Institute in Belgrade Holds the 8th Chinese Class Graduation Ceremony

Belgrade, July 8th - The Confucius Institute in Belgrade held a graduation ceremony for the students of its 8th Chinese program. The youngest was 14 and the oldest a female painter over 70 years old, all students have a strong interest in Chinese culture.

Chen Yudong, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony and congratulated the 18 students who have accomplished their studies. Prof. Puxiqi (pinyin), the Serbian Director and some teachers and faculty members then praised students' academic efforts. Director Puxiqi mentioned in his speech that the Confucius Institute will develop even more high quality Chinese programs and hopes that students keep on being concerned with the Confucius Institute's development. Afterwards, the two directors presented students with diplomas and encouraged them to make further progress in their future studies as well as in life. Students finished by having photos taken with the two directors.

Shortly after the awards volunteer Chinese teachers from the Confucius Institute staged wonderful performances, including tai chi chuan combining power with tenderness; elegant poetry recital; vivid Chinese opera and lively pop songs. The ceremony concluded in a warm and joyful atmosphere, repeated rounds of applause could be heard in the assembly hall.
