Between June 20th and 23rd, the Confucius Institute of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University at Suphanburi held 2 Chinese teaching materials exhibitions at Crocodilian High School in Nakhon Pathom Province and Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University in Chanthaburi Province.

Various publications, including the latest Chinese teaching materials for primary and secondary schools as well as universities, those for Chinese teaching assistants and reference books, HSK reference books, high-tech educational tools, multimedia teaching software and other Chinese cultural books, were showcased during the exhibition. Teachers of the Confucius Institute of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University at Suphanburi also demonstrated the usage of new teaching materials and educational tools to visitors at a multimedia teaching demonstration booth attracting large numbers of visitors.

In addition to students from Crocodilian High School, more than 450 people from other 6 schools, such as Nakhon Pathom School, participated in the event. Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University invited over 500 teachers and students from 6 high schools offering Chinese courses to students for the exhibition. At the opening ceremony various Chinese cultural talent activities, such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, paper-cuts and Chinese knots drew the attention of large audiences. Thai students also gave excellent artistic performances, including Chinese Kong fu, swords, Tai chi, and lion dances; they were all well received by Thai teachers and students.

Bunyut Suksringam, President of the Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University said that Thailand and China are close neighbors; they have a long standing friendship with a long history. China is geographically larger than Thailand, however, China has never adopted the manner of a large nation; rather it has aided Thailand through various means. In recent years there has been a fever for Chinese learning which has arisen amongst students at Thai universities and schools as well as with the general public. Although the Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University established its Chinese department this year and there are currently not so many students, he is confident of great future success in collaboration with the Confucius Institute.

CHNA SILAPA VASBOONMA, school master of Crocodilian High School said that the school will benefit a lot from the exhibition. The exhibition has also broadened students' horizons. Most students have become more interested in Chinese learning. The students that have previously had less chance to know about Chinese have begun to know China and Chinese culture through the exhibition.
