Thai Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University Launches New HSK

Khon Kaen, June 20th – the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University held the new HSK. The test lasted for almost a whole day and nearly 90 students participated across the six levels of tests; some also took the three tiered spoken test.

The use of the new HSK has dealt with the matters over questioning and extended exam times of the old HSK. It was designed to different test levels for students of varying Chinese proficiency and has turned its emphasis from grammar to student’s comprehension skills and capacity for application of Chinese.

The new HSK also features the launch of a 3-tiered spoken test, the Confucius Institute at Khon Kaen University and the IT-Center of the Distance Education School of the Khon Kaen University worked together to launch the oral test in an audio-video classroom.

Students all wore smiles as they left the testing site, feeling relaxed because they have demonstrated their Chinese proficiency. The competition has also strengthened students’ interests in Chinese learning and helped them practice their speaking skills. Students were all excited after the test and expressed a wish to keep on learning diligently in order to attend higher level HSK tests.
