Thai Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University Holds Chinese Teaching Materials Exhibition at Roi Et Teaching Site

According to Xinhua, Bangkok, June 11th (reported by Huang Zheyu), the Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University located in Northeast Thailand and Roi Et Chinese Language and Cultural Promotion Association held the two-day Roi Et Chinese Teaching Material Exhibition of the Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University, which attracted 1,200 local students.

On the morning of 11th, the fiery-red Chinese knots and festive lanterns decorated the exhibition site located in Rio Et Women’s School. In the 150 square meter exhibition pavilion, teaching materials were grouped in various sections including: a primary school section, a middle school section, an adult section, the Great Wall Chinese section and the multimedia teaching material section. Over 100 categories of thousands of volumes of teaching materials, cultural readings and multimedia reading materials were on display. Students expressed love for the books and were unwilling to leave. The Confucius Institute’s teachers explained the applications of the Chinese audio primer to students; students were immersed in the colorful world of Chinese.

The Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University also made a donation of Chinese books to Rio Et Women’s School.

The Vice President of Rio Et Women’s School said that there are more and more students choosing to learn Chinese since the Chinese programs had been opened. The school has facilitated its students in communicating with students from other schools from Northeast Thailand through Chinese training camps and the Chinese Bridge Competition. A number of students have won Confucius Institute scholarships and opportunities to join Chinese summer camps in China.

Zhou Mengzhen, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University said that the Confucius Institute will hold a large-scale Chinese teaching material exhibition in other areas within Roi Et at the invitation of the Roi Et Education Administration.
