The Confucius Institute at Tajikistan National University Successfully Holds the YCT Test
May, 8th, 2010 - The 2010 YCT successfully concluded at the Confucius Institute at Tajikistan National University. Eighty-four examinees from more than 10 primary and secondary schools in Dushanbe entered the test.
Ages of examinees ranged between 8 to 16 years old. Forty-seven examinees took the Level 1 YCT test, and another 37 examinees sat for the Level 2 test. Most examinees arrived at the testing sites early. After listening to matters of import, they began to take YCT exam carefully. The examination went very smoothly. Examinees exchanged their experiences of the YCT after the test.
It was the first time for the YCT test to be held in Tajikistan. The institute has been offering free Chinese courses to primary and secondary school students since its first Chinese course was opened. At present, 12 Chinese courses are provided with over 150 primary and secondary school students in attendance. The new YCT test provides a yardstick against which to measure students’ Chinese ability. Learners have begun to feel more interested in Chinese study.
