Hanban Holds a Chinese Teaching Materials Exhibition in Thailand

Bangkok, April 18th - Hanban’s Thailand office held a Chinese teaching materials exhibition today. Pang Li, Hanban Representative in Thailand, and Chinraworn Bonyakiat, Thai Minister of Education, cut a large red ribbon to open the exhibition.

The exhibition included a book fair, a tea tasting stand, a calligraphy demonstration and other activities. The book fair covered an area of 150 square meters and became very popular among visitors. With the theme of “If you master Chinese you can roam the world" the book fair featured several hundreds of the latest Chinese textbooks, reference books, CDs and wall maps, all of which Thai teachers and students showed great interest in.

In addition, cultural presentations and activities, including the playing of a guzheng, a tea ceremony, some calligraphy and a Chinese knots presentation also attracted a great number of visitors.

The activity was part of the “Good Children” Academic Day held by the Office of the Basic Education Commission of the Thai Ministry of Education. Teachers and students from the Confucius Institutes at Chulalongkorn University, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University and Suan Dusit Rajabhat University at Suphanburi, as well as Confucius Classrooms at Phuket Wittayalai School, Rayong Wittayakorm School and Traimit Wittayalai High School brought their Chinese textbooks to participate in the activities.
