Chilean Volunteer Teachers’ Thanks Letter to Hanban
Distinguished Hanban Leaders and Dear Teachers,
Hello!
An 8.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Concepcion city in south Chile at 03:34am, Feb. 27th 2010, Chile time. The entire world has been shocked by the intensity and destructive force of the earthquake. There were ten Chinese volunteer teachers dispatched by Hanban working in Chile while the earthquake was taking place, whose lives were affected in various ways.
After the earthquake, we immediately received condolences from Hanban; leaders and teachers concerned very much about our welfare and have tried their best to help us overcome difficulties and contact our families. The earthquake occurred during the weekend in China, however teachers Fang Xu and Lai Yongmei gave up their weekend and wrote a number of e-mails to us each day, asking about our circumstances. We have been deeply touched by all of the things you have done for us. Hereby please accept our heartfelt gratitude from the entire Chilean volunteer teacher team:
Thank you all!
Now the toughest time is over, everything here is in a state of recuperation. There are still difficulties but we believe that we can surely work them out with Hanban’s support and through our own efforts.
Respectfully
Chinese Volunteer Teachers in Chile
