Family of Volunteer Chinese Teachers Established in Mongolia

At present, the Family of Volunteer Chinese Teachers was established in the Mongolia’s Capital,Ulan Bator. The Chinese Charge d’Affaires ad Interim to Mongolia Wang Fukang and Dao Ligang Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mongolia made an address during the opening ceremony. In addition, over 60 people attended the ceremony, including: Cultural Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Mongolia Wu Xinying, First Secretary of Cultural Office De Bo, M.Chimedtseye, Secretary-General of the Mongolia-China Friendship Association, Yao Kecheng, leader of volunteer Chinese teachers in Mongolia and the director of the Family of Volunteer Chinese Teachers, as well as other Mongolian representatives and volunteer Chinese teachers.

D.Tsakhilgaan, Chairman of Mongolian Peace and Friendship Association, Dashdavaa Dashtseren, Colonel of Border Force of Mongolia, Zhang Lixin, a member of volunteer Chinese teachers, and Director Yao Kecheng made an address marking the completion of the Family of Volunteer Chinese Teachers.

China and Mongolia have established exchanges and cooperation in economic, cultural amongst other fields, these exchanges are increasing in frequency. As a result greater numbers of Mongolian people have begun to study Chinese, in spite of this there are few qualified Chinese teachers. Since the first batch of 12 volunteer Chinese teachers dispatched in 2005, the number of Chinese teachers which have been sent at Mongolia’s request has increased to 281. These teachers are scattered across the country, in places such as: Ulan Bator, Darhan-Uul, Orhon, Northern Khangai, Dornogovi and Dornod. They work hard and have made great contributions to Sino-Mongolian friendship.
