Ambassador Huang Changqing to Cameroon Meets with Hanban Volunteer Teachers
On November 5, Mr. Huang Changqing, Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, and Political Counselor Peng Jingtao met with eight new volunteer teachers from the Confucius Institute at the University of Yaounde Ⅱ. On the next day, the Confucius Institute held training for the newcomers to help them integrate into the new working environment.
At the welcome party, Ambassador Huang reviewed the institute’s development over the past 2 years and fully recognized its work. He expressed his hope that both old and new volunteers will set high standards for themselves and promote Chinese language and culture while being messengers of friendship for the two countries.. Political Counselor Peng Jingtao briefed the new volunteers on their new environment and encouraged them to meet challenges enthusiastically and do the job well.
A total of 14 volunteer teachers were sent to Cameroon this year. Currently, the Confucius Institute at the University of Yaounde Ⅱ is among the schools with the largest number of volunteers from Hanban.
