Hanban Gives a Warm Send-off to the 5th Batch of Volunteer Chinese Teachers
A two-day training course was given by Hanban to the 5th batch of volunteer Chinese teachers on September 14th and 15th. The person in charge of the Volunteer Center encouraged volunteer teachers to gain greater familiarity with the cultures and ways of life in Indonesia, to abide by its laws, and to respect its folk customs.
On September 16th, the volunteer teachers arrived in Indonesia. A welcoming ceremony was given by the k, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and the Chinese Education Coordination Institute. The Undersecretary of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, and Dr. Shao Yiwu, a cultural counselor from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia delivered speeches. Aside from those in Jakarta, volunteer teachers have already been dispatched to 80 elementary and secondary schools, including national and private schools in 14 different provinces.
