Confucius Institute at Goerge Mason University Holds Training for Local Chinese Teachers

On July 19th and 26th, the Confucius Institute at Goerge Mason University held two 6-hour training sessions for local Chinese teachers following its first successful two part lectures entitled “How to Teach Chinese Grammar” aimed at K-16 school teachers. More than 20 teachers took part in the training sessions.

The training was hosted by Guo Fenglan, a professor from Beijing Language and Culture University and also Dean of the Confucius Institute, and it covered three topics, namely; Chinese phonetics teaching, Chinese character teaching, and Chinese language and social culture.

During the training, Professor Guo also gave comprehensive practical training to the attending teachers on how to achieve better results when teaching Chinese in public primary and secondary schools in the US.

The Confucius Institute will hold a number of styles of training course for the teachers from time to time in the future.
